Location: Duns, Scottish Borders
Project: New Tarmac Driveway with Edging and ACO Channel Drainage.
To start with, here are some pictures of what the driveway looked like before. As you can see, the driveway is uneven with a large drop from the kerb making it awkward to get in and out of the driveway with a car and messy when it’s been raining.
The whole area was excavated and spoil removed to new levels. New kerb edgings were installed around the perimeter of the driveway, and ACO channel drain installed for surface water. Type-1 hardcore laid to new levels.
Finally, we laid AC20mm Base course tarmac laid to 60mm depth, and AC10mm Stone mastic asphalt laid to 40mm depth. The client now has a new tarmac driveway, beautifully edged with proper drainage. And it’s a lot easier to get in and out of the drive now!
